Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: STEREO A
Event Time: 2025-02-28T19:32Z ( STEREO A: IMPACT )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: IMPACT
STEREO A: PLASTIC
Activity ID: 2025-02-28T19:32:00-IPS-001 (version 1)
Quality of ICME Signature: 1 (lacks some signatures)
Note: Complex arrival signature starting around 2025-02-28T19:32Z at STEREO A characterized by an increase in magnetic field strength to near 20 nT shortly before a large data gap lasting until 2025-03-01T03:30Z, when total field rapidly increases to over 30 nT, reaching a peak of 35 nT around 2025-03-01T04:00Z. The density and velocity parameters are characterized by a "pileup" signature with density gradually increasing and velocity relatively stable before the data gap, followed by density quickly dropping off and velocity increasing after the data gap. Also contains a likely solar sector boundary crossing as evidenced by phi angle flip in IMPACT/PLASTIC data. High speed stream starts around 2025-03-01T03:40Z. This signature predominantly looks to be effects of a coronal hole high speed stream and embedded solar sector boundary crossing, but may additionally be associated with a CME arrival.
